This section is to assist you in deciding which camera to buy, as there has been a new round of releases of new models by Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Sony and Panasonic.The list below shows the image quality of the cameras ( which also depends on the DSLR lenses used, pixel density) assuming some standard settings for the camera.
In reading this document, be aware that image quality is just one criterion which you can use by short listing the cameras you should look at.
I own some of the cameras above, and I started with the image quality criterion, then went on to: camera size, camera pricing, re-sale value, quality of build (for example, the Olympus PENeP-1 is one of the most finely built camera that came out. Some of the cameras, like the entry level Canon DSLRs are a bit too plastic for me).
